Sherrie Kline

Position:
Instructor for Word, Excel, Internet & Computer Basics, Access, and Outlook

Degree:
Bachelor of Arts, Miami University; Master of Library Science, Vanderbilt University; Master of Public Administration, University of Cincinnati
Areas of study:  French, Library Science, Public Admin.

Experience:
6 years experience as computer systems/software instructor at Cinergy, and many years experience teaching library patrons how to take advantage of computers in libraries

Why I enjoy tech-reach:
The most rewarding thing is to see students learn, and find out how their new knowledge will be useful in their jobs and in everyday life. I especially enjoy working with adult students, because they are in the class because they are enthused about learning, and not just because they are required be there.

Associates Degree, Raymond Walters College
Areas of study: Business

Experience:
For the last 5 years, I have been teaching Microsoft Office courses, for the business division of a local insurance company that includes 500 employees. I work in the Training and Development department for this company, but am also very involved in other community programs as well.

Why I enjoy tech-reach:
I have really enjoyed the classes that I have facilitated at tech-reach. Each class has a unique group of students. It is energizing to witness each person developing their confidence and skills with a computer and determine how it can be put to use for them. I am inspired with each class and learn something new each session

I am the Assistant Librarian for Elder High School and also the Administrative Assistant for tech-reach.   I also  worked for over 10 years as a Legal Secretary for a large downtown firm with my main responsibility being transcribing legal documents from recorded tapes which strengthened my typing skills from high school.

 Why I enjoy tech-reach:
I enjoy being involved with tech-reach because I feel like I am making a difference.  Our world is so technology-driven and it feels so good to help others who are here because they really want to learn.  Everyone is always so nice and appreciative of what we do at tech-reach.  Meeting new people is an added bonus!
